What?!
You actually want to know “ABOUT ME”?
I’m honored…I think.
So, I liked drawing fashion faces as a girl, and I liked singing too.
My mom, and grandma were both artists, so I must have inherited it.
Dad and my aunt were both singers, so I got it from both sides.
I went to a vocational school for Graphic Arts while attending high school in Colorado.
After graduation, I wanted to join a band.
Mom wanted me to go to art school, and do the band thing later.
Still, I wanted to join a band.
Mom used strong arm tactics and said,
“We will only pay for art school if you go now”.
So, I went to the ever overcharging, ever increasingly expensive, Art Institute of Colorado
for Fashion Illustration, so I could learn to draw more than just the face.
Poor dad, and I mean POOR dad.
I made enough to get by free-lancing as a graphic artist for 7 years,
then landed a job as a Fashion Illustrator in a department store in Nashville TN,
where I had moved to…wait for it…. join a band.
The fashion illustration job ended, due to digital photography replacing illustration.
So, I free-lanced as an Illustrator for various publishing companies.
And yes, after a few record deals fell through, I did end up singing, mostly in studios,
and writing and producing some pop jazz. I never got to join a band, but I do sing
karaoke with the seniors at the retirement home and really enjoy it.
